Using An Android Phone And A Mac

Before I was able to acquire an iPhone, I was on an Android. When I’m working, I like the ease and comfort of doing everything right from my computer and breaking away just to check a text message or find something on my phone became distracting. I needed something that would allow me to read and reply to text messages directly from my Mac and sometimes browse and download files from my phone without having to plug in a cable or having to browse on my phone for the files and share (regardless of how easy it may be).

AirDroid saves the day

The best way I found to be able to send and receive text messages from my Android phone using my Mac was through an awesome app called AirDroid. It’s also capable of doing file transfers without a cable. Install the AirDroid App on your phone and the desktop client on your Mac, sign in with your Airdroid account on both devices and you’re good to go! Ease of use and a clean makes it an excellent solution to improving your Android/Mac workflow.

AirDroid makes your multi-screen life easier and more focused by helping you access and manage your phone from any computer, anywhere. You can send SMS, view app notifications, transfer files and fully control your phone on a computer with AirDroid. – AirDroid

Other great solutions

Mightytext and Pushbullet are also great ways to improve your Android/Mac workflow, however, after experimenting with these options which I consider to be the top 3 out of the lot, I can honestly say I lean towards the AirDroid solution. An honorable mention is AirMore. The following are some bullet point comparisons worth mentioning…

Mightytext

  • for Android phones only
  • works on Mac and PC computers
  • the desktop client is browser-based

Pushbullet

  • for Android and iOS phones
  • works on Mac and PC computers
  • native Mac and PC desktop client
  • limited SMS functionality on Mac and found that the desktop client worked better on PC

AirDroid

  • for Android and iOS phones
  • works on Mac and PC computers
  • native Mac and PC desktop client and a browser-based option
  • works flawlessly compared to other solutions

AirMore

  • for Android and iOS phones
  • works on Mac and PC computers via the browser-based client
  • awesome file manager
  • can play/view videos, music files, and your pictures
  • no notification sounds when there is incoming text
  • SMS function is not as smooth compared to other solutions

The Best Super Glue

I've tried many, and most of them have always dried up when stored, especially the famous Krazy Glue. I've tried the brush-on versions, the squeeze tube versions, and they suck. I manage to get 2 or 3 uses out of them, and 9 out of ten times, they dry up, and I have...
