Meet The Hempcrete Block, a Precast and Pre-dried Form of Hempcrete

by | Nov 26, 2018 | Architecture | 0 comments

It was only a matter of time until someone discovered how to make brick-like type blocks out of hemp. Yes, hemp. It’s no secret that hemp has many applications in automobiles, body care, clothing, construction, food, plastic, etc. but to see it used as a brick?!

Aiming to make hempcrete blocks be a sustainable development accelerator, Art du Chanvre‘s blocks are not only obviously organic and an inexhaustible resource but they are also claimed to be fire and mold resistant.

“Art du Chanvre works in hemp insulation and lime finishing since its establishment in 2009.” They launched their Hempcrete Block Kickstarter campaign a few years ago which was successfully funded.
