Defeat Divide and Conquer

There is a bigger picture that can become fragmented if we’re not careful. As a whole, our self, divided according to role, purpose, and ambitions, can be counterintuitive. There is this idea that we shouldn’t mix work with pleasure, that we should exclude certain things from other things in one’s life simply because they don’t go together, which applies to an extent but not entirely. A balance between the different aspects of one’s life and a smooth transition from one role to another reduces friction. We are continually being divided and conquered by mainstream media, consumerism, and trends. Based on that, we project an image of how we want to be perceived. Sometimes, we project multiple personas – one at home, another at work, and one with friends. Be careful that they aren’t pretentious for the sake of the image. How can we condition ourselves to bring these images closer to one another and more genuine? Stripping away the crap, and only focusing on what we love about those projections, the real aspects. Perhaps merging what you’re left with, smoothening out the paths between them, ultimately creating your authentic self where projections are stitched together rather than separated so that we are not divided as a person, and instead, united within ourselves.
